Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT Safîye Erol, is one the Republic Period writers who merged modern values with traditional elements successfully in her works. Safiye Erol, who had always been educated with western languages since she was six years old,had gone to Germany at an early age. She went to high school there and came back after she had graduated from the university with a Ph.D. degree. She is one of the rare writers who obtained a compound by merging the western methods with the national values Love; which is in the core of her works, is orientated through human to human, herself, God, and the society. After suffering from various pains, the character who exceeds metaphorical love and tends to hymn love, dedicates him or herself to God and public serve. Also presenting the elements of time, place and human being to the readers by merging them together plays an important role in her success. History, nature and human being move together in her works. It is remarkable that, her understanding of individual and public, nature, a definite nation and the whole humanity in a unity, is the reflection of her mystical character through her novels and stories. She evaluates the incidents in the history as guides and advisories to solve the problems of the human being of today. She uses the place, especially the nature as an instrument to understand the human being, with her prospect orientating from inside to outside and outside to inside. Her understanding of mysticism and the feeling of love which forms the base of her works influences her perception of nature. Safiye Erol's characters are generally intellectuals who are interested in science, art and literature and compound the positive sides of the east and west in their constitution. After a long and hard internal contention period, the ones who succeed to neglect their presence, get strength from their origin and history to regain a new revival. She believes that love could be taken from material level and raised to an excellence by the help of mentalist and socialist ways as a sublime integrity.
