Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to contribute to the preservation of historical and cultural heritage by applying motifs found in the Antonine Fountain of Sagalassos Ancient City to jewelry design using computer technologies commonly employed in contemporary jewelry making. Another significant aim is to facilitate the emergence of creative and technically original designs by merging traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies. Within the scope of this study, the literature review and application work have established a foundation for integrating the motifs from the Antonine Fountain of Sagalassos Ancient City into the art of jewelry making and design. This study encompasses a comprehensive and systematic process. It involves sketching, drawing designs based on these sketches, and subsequently processing and implementing these designs using the Matrix program, encompassing all stages of creating a piece of jewelry. Detailing and documenting this process reflect the methodological approach of an art and jewelry study encompassing both design and production stages. Systematic documentation and photography of the stages ensure transparency and comprehensibility of the study, aiming to serve as a reference for similar future endeavors. As a result of this study, the utilization of motifs from the Antonine Fountain of Sagalassos Ancient City in jewelry design and their reinterpretation with computer technologies demonstrate an original and creative approach in both art and design fields. The role of computer technologies in the field of jewelry making has significantly increased and deepened. Artists and designers, who once had limited resources, can now produce faster, more precise, and more creative works using computer technologies. In conclusion, computer technologies have opened new horizons in the art and design world and greatly facilitated the work of practitioners in this field. In the future, the imagination of designers and artists, alongside the possibilities offered by technology, will continue to be the key factor determining how these technologies are utilized.
