İş sağlığı ve güvenliği uygulamalarının verimlilik üzerine etkisini inceleyen bir çalışma

This study?s purpose is to put forward the relationship between productivity and Occupational Safety and Health approaches, problems and indefiniteness in `?Gemi İnşaa Sanayii AŞ.?? . This research is carried out with 73 employees and 22 employers/managers from 11 shipyards in shipbuilding sector.At the theory section of the study; the concept and the historical development of occupational safety and health in Turkey and the World, the legal responsibilities of the employers and employees, Social Insurance Institution (SSK) statistics about the employment accidents, occupational diseases and temporary incapacity rates in 2006, general situation of Turkey?s shipyards, productivity factors and relationship between the OSH and productivity have been investigated.At the result of this study, it has been determined that employers and employees had an enough knowledge about OSH. So they are usually in right attitudes, expectations and conscious about safety, but at the application level of OSH importance is not understood sufficiently by most of employees when choosing the enterprise they want to work, physical profit get out frontier than safety and health conditions. OSHAs are not percepted as a legal necassities and additional costs by most of employer/ managers, but some participants still percept the opposite. According to our thinking, the some wrong attitudes and expections can be corrected with training programs which acquire OSH culture.At the end of the research, to solve problems related to OSH and to become more productive a country, not only the state but also employers and employees have big responsibility and result of a collective study, healtier, more productive and more developed Shipyard Industry may be owned, is evaluated.
