Evaluation of the in-service training program given to the nurses who are on duty at the ministry of health İstanbul Training and Research Hospital

The aim of this research is to find out the views of the nurses on duty at the Ministry of Health Istanbul Training and Research Hospital about the in- service training program given to them and to evaluate the training program. The research was done with a General Search Method which is one of the Descriptional Research Methods and most of this research is formed by 200 nurses who work in various services within the hospital. The results of this research were obtained from a single type questionnaire consisting of 59 items. From the questionnaire, first the general views on the in-service training were obtained, followed by the objectives and application of the training program, features of the trainer, features of the learning atmosphere and views on it?s evaluation were also obtained. With the aim to find answers to the sub-problems of the research, the views of the nurses obtained from the questionnaires were turned into a table after the average and frequency calculations were done. Later on, these results were analysed by a single factor variant analysis (Anova Test). As a result of the research, under the ?General? section, a difference was found on the nurses views of the training program according to the schools they graduated from, and also a meaningful difference was seen in advantage of the university graduates while comparing them to the points scored by graduates of health career high schools. When we look at the differences according to seniority under the titles ?Evaluation?, ?Application? and ?Educational?, nurses with 16 years and over seniority, expressed more positive views as opposed to nurses with 6 to 10 years of seniority. The differences in the average points according to the nurses institutional duties, turned out in the advantage of the nurses coming from polyclinics, under the titles ?Evaluation?, ?Target?, ?Application? and ?Educational? of the training program.
