Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the relationship between future anxiety and perceived well-being among students at the Faculty of Health Sciences. In the theoretical part of the research, a literature review was conducted on the concepts of future anxiety and perceived wellness. Information was provided on the definitions, dimensions, and models of these concepts, and the findings obtained from past and current studies were included. This quantitative study was carried out with 197 students at Ardahan University's Faculty of Health Sciences using a relational survey model and a convenience sampling method. A questionnaire was used to collect the research data. The questionnaire included a socio-demographic data form and the "Perceived Wellness Scale (PWS)", which was developed by Adams et al. (1997) and adapted into Turkish by Memnun (2006), as well as the "Future Anxiety Scale in University Students (FAS)", which was developed by Geylani and Çiriş Yıldız (2021). The survey data were evaluated using frequency analyses, descriptive statistics, normality analysis, validity and reliability analyses, difference analyses, and correlation and regression analyses. Descriptive statistics were performed using frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean and standard deviation to evaluate the socio-demographic data. According to the findings of this study, participants' perceptions of future anxiety and perceived well-being were both moderate, with the latter close to the upper limit. It was determined that the participants' perception levels of future anxiety differed significantly between groups according to the class variable only (Hopelessness about the Future and FAS). In terms of perceived wellness, statistically significant differences were found between the groups according to the following variables: age (psychological wellnes, intellectual wellness, PWS); department of education (spiritual wellness, intellectual wellness, PWS); class (psychological wellness, spiritual wellness, intellectual wellness, AES); and income status (social wellness, PWS). The Pearson correlation test revealed a moderate negative relationship between future anxiety and perceived well- being (r = -0.607). According to the regression analysis result, as future anxiety increases, perceived well-being decreases.
