Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the organisational silence levels of healthcare workers in the context of five factor personality theory and person-organisation fit. The sample of the study consisted of 262 healthcare professionals working in a public education and research hospital in Istanbul. The number of incomplete or incorrectly answered questionnaires was determined as 31 and 231 participants were included in the analysis. Data were collected through Google form and analysed with SPSS 27.0 and AMOS 22.0 programs. Organizational and Demographic Information, Five Personality Scale, Person-Organization Fit Scale and Organizational Silence Scale were used in the study. Descriptive statistics, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA, correlation and regression analyses were used to analyze the data. The findings of the study show that the five personality traits of responsibility and openness to innovation have a significant and negative correlation with organizational silence. There is no correlation between silence and organization-person fit. It shows that organization-person fit has a significant and negative effect on accepting silence and a significant and positive effect on protective silence. It has been determined that there is no significant difference between the opinions of healthcare workers on the effect of five personality theory and organization-person fit on organizational silence according to gender, education level, marital status and total experience.
