Job satisfaction level in healthcare professionals and relevant factors

The purpose of this study was to determine job satisfaction level in healthcare professionals and relevant factors. The target population of the study comprised 400 healthcare professionals working in a training and research hospital. 216 healthcare professionals who actively performed duty during the data collection process, could be reached and agreed to take part in the study constituted the sample. In collection of the data the study used an information form created by the researchers in line with the literature and the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale. The data acquired in the study was analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 25.0 program. In the normally distributed data the study used the independent samples t-test for the difference between two independent groups in comparing the quantitative data and the one-way analysis of variance in comparing more than two groups. In case a difference was found, the study used the Bonferroni to find the time causing the difference. As a result of the study the healthcare professionals' internal satisfaction score was 3.35±0.70, external satisfaction score was 2.86±0.80 and general satisfaction score was 3.15±0.68. The study found job satisfaction to be higher in the healthcare professionals who were male, had children, had a doctorate, had moderate and high financial status, were physician, working less than 45 hours per week and always worked the day shift, loved their profession and unit.
