Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted with 95 female, 42 male healthcare professionals who agreed to participate in the research in a private hospital between December 2022-February 2023, in order to evaluate the food choices of healthcare professionals according to body image, healthy orthorexia, physical activity status. A face-to-face questionnaire was used for healthcare professionals, general information, information on health and nutritional status, anthropometric measurements (height (cm), body weight (kg)), Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ-34), Teruel Orthorexia Scale (TOS), There is the Food Choice Questionnaire (FCQ), the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). The mean BMI of healthcare workers is within the normal range (24.8±4.43 kg/m2). Since 34.2% of the doctor/nurse group and 47.2% of the other health personnel don't have time, they skip the main meal. There was a significant difference between the genders in terms of body shape dissatisfaction, and it was determined that women were more than men (p<0.05). While the average of the BSQ-34 score of those who are obese is the highest, the average decreases as the BMI level decreases. There was a significant relationship between gender and BMI in those with no body shape dissatisfaction, those with mild dissatisfaction (p<0.05). There is a significant difference between the sexes in terms of mood, fitness, body weight control factors in food selection, and the mean of women is higher than men (p<0.05). As body shape dissatisfaction increases, the mean factor of mood in food selection increases. Age affects healthy orthorexia positively (ß=0.269, p<0.05). Body shape dissatisfaction positively affects orthorexia nervosa (ß=0.409, p<0.05). In the case of healthy orthorexia, there is a positive relationship between health (ß=0.326, p<0.05), negative relationship between sensory attractiveness (ß=-0.248, p<0.05) in food selection. In the case of orthorexia nervosa, in food selection, mood was positive (ß=0.260, p<0.05), sensory appeal was negative (ß=-0.426, p<0.05), natural ingredient was negative (ß =-0.267, p<0.05), body weight control. there is a positive relationship (ß=0.291, p<0.05). It was determined that 44.2% of women and 45.2% of men were inactive. There was no statistically significant difference in terms of factors considered in food selection according to the 9 physical activity status of health workers (p<0.05). As a result, in this study, it was determined that women's body shape dissatisfaction, emotional state, fitness, body weight control factors were more effective than men. It has been determined that dissatisfaction with body shape affects food selection. It has been found that food choice affects healthy orthorexia.
