The effect of healthworkers' digital literacy level on their behavioral intention towards information systems: The case of Düzce

As a result of the rapid change in digital technologies, information systems continue to develop and be widely used in the field of health, as in all areas of life. Rapid development requires a different adaptation process to the information systems that healthcare workers have to use. The aim of the research is to determine the digital literacy level of healthcare workers using health information systems and to evaluate its impact on information systems within the framework of the Unified Technology Acceptance and Use Theory (UTAUT). The research data was obtained in a total of 4 hospitals in Düzce province, including two Ministry of Health hospitals, one private hospital and one university hospital. The research was conducted with 334 healthcare workers who completed the survey face to face and online on a voluntary basis using information systems. Measures of central tendency were calculated in data analyses. The validity and reliability of the scales used in the research were tested. T test and ANOVA test were used in the analysis of differences between groups. The hypotheses of the research were tested with Structural Equation Model (SEM). As a result of the analysis, when looking at the impact of digital literacy on the Unified Theory of Technological Acceptance and Use (UTAUT) areas, digital literacy; It was determined that it had a positive significant effect on performance expectation, effort expectation, social impact, and attitude towards technology use. However, although digital literacy does not directly affect the intention to use, it is affected through "attitude towards technology use". Within the scope of the research model, "attitude towards technology use" affected behavioral intention positively and significantly. However, other variables such as performance expectation, effort expectation and social influence did not have any significant effect on behavioral intention (p <0.05).
