Research of the relationship between healthcare workers' lifelong learning statuses, readiness for mobile learning and online privacy concerns

It seems that the change of learning environments, because of the development of technology and with the other developments in the world, is inevitable. With the increase in mobile technologies and the possibilities to reach internet, people's interest in mobile learning opportunities which they can participate in regardless of time and place has increased. Mobile learning technologies that enable individuals of all ages to participate in learning, support lifelong learning. However, the advancement of technology has brought with it privacy concern. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between healthcare workers' lifelong learning statuses, their mobile learning readiness and online privacy concerns by examining with various variables. In 2019 and 2020, 668 healthcare workers from Izmir and Bartin provinces participated in this research, in which descriptive screening method was used. The data of the study were obtained in three different scales in addition with "Personal Information Form": "Effective Lifelong Learning Scale", "Readiness for Mobile Learning Scale" and "Online Privacy Concern Scale". As a result of normal distribution of the data in its analysis; the parametric tests which are t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation analysis were used in the analysis. According to the findings obtained from the research, there was no significant difference between scale scores according to gender and marital status variables. The variables of owning a personal computer, the duration of owning a mobile device, the duration of daily internet usage and the duration of daily social media usage showed a significant difference in terms of scale scores. When the variables: "the city, educational level, type of institution which is the place of duty, the level of information technologies usage, the status of using the internet to learn new knowledge and skills, the status of having knowledge about the concept of mobile learning and the duration of daily social media access" are examined in terms of scale scores; a significant difference was observed between readiness for mobile learning and effective lifelong learning scales. However, there was no significant difference between these variables and the online privacy concern scale. When the relationship between service duration variable and scale scores is examined; there was no significant difference between the mobile learning readiness scale and the service duration variable. However, a significant difference was observed between online privacy concern and effective lifelong learning scale with the service duration variable. There was a significant positive relation between the effective lifelong learning scale of healthcare workers, the readiness for mobile learning scale and the online privacy concern scale. In this study; lifelong learning statuses of healthcare workers, readiness for mobile learning and the effect on online privacy concern was tried to be measured simultaneously. This research is also important in terms of its contribution to the literature, providing ideas and suggestions to researchers who would work on this subject in the future.
