Investigation of the relationship between quality of work life and silent resignation attitudes of healthcare workers

This study aimed to examine the relationship between the quality of work life of healthcare professionals and their silent resignation attitudes. This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 476 healthcare professionals working at Atatürk University Health Research and Application Center. The data of the research were collected using the "Personal Information Form", "Work Life Quality Scale" and "Silent Resignation Attitude Scale". T-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Tukey, LSD post hoc tests, Spearman correlation analysis and linear regression analysis were preferred in the analysis of data. It has been determined that healthcare workers have a medium level of work life quality and exhibit an attitude towards silent resignation, and as the quality of work life increases, their silent resignation attitude decreases. It was found that there was a significant relationship between the quality of work life and silent resignation attitude of healthcare workers and their age, length of service in the profession and in the current institution. It has been determined that there is a significant difference between the quality of work life and silent resignation attitude and income status, marital status, having children, career advancement opportunity, sufficient training and support for professional development at work, workplace stress, fairness of workload at work, feeling mentally disconnected from work in the last year, receiving any reward or appreciation at work in the last year, and desire to change profession. In addition, it was found that there was a significant difference between the quality of work life and gender and weekly working hours. In this regard, it is recommended to develop strategies to reduce the tendency for healthcare workers to resign silently and to provide working conditions that will increase the quality of work life.
