The effect of mobbing exposed by healthcare professionals on the level of burnout of healthcare professionals

This research was carried out to examine the effect of mobbing that health workers are exposed to on the level of burnout of health workers. For this purpose, 202 health workers working in different units were included in the study. In order to collect data, three different forms were directed to the health workers who made up the research group. These three forms transmitted electronically; Personal Information Form, Mobbing Scale and Maslach Burnout Scale. The raw data obtained through these data collection tools were analyzed in the SPSS (26 Version) package program. In the analysis process, parametric tests; t-test, One Way ANOVA and pearson correlation analysis were used. At the end of the research; While the mobbing perceptions of the participants did not differ according to their professional tenure, it was determined that they differed according to gender, education level, unit and occupational group. Depending on the age variable, a negative relationship was found between the mobbing perceptions of health workers and their biological ages. When the burnout levels are examined; While there was no difference in terms of gender, educational status and unit of employment, it was found that there was a difference in terms of occupational group and professional duty period. A negative correlation was found as a result of the analysis based on burnout and age variables. As a result, it has been determined that there is a positive relationship between mobbing and burnout perceived by health workers. In other words, it can be expected that health workers who are exposed to negative behaviors such as mobbing have high levels of burnout.
