Usage of mobile health application and acceptance of mobi̇le applications by healthcare professionals

The use of health technologies and health mobile applications by health professionals for individual and health services is increasing. In this thesis, the use of mobile health applications and acceptance of mobile applications of 309 health personnel working in Sakarya Training and Research Hospital were examined. The data belonging to the universe in the study were obtained by using the Questionnaire Form for Determining the Healthcare Professionals' Use of Mobile Applications and the Mobile Application Acceptance Scale. While the participants often prefer smartphones for transactions such as communication, social media, and banking, it has been determined that 50% use individual mobile health applications and approximately 25% use mobile health applications related to their profession. The mobile health application that 24.3% of the participants found most useful is drug guides. Those who do not use mobile applications related to their profession stated that they do not use mobile applications due to lack of time, expensive mobile applications, not being interested, lack of knowledge and foreign language problems. It was determined that the perceived usefulness sub-dimension score of healthcare professionals is closer to the highest score, their perceptions of the benefits of mobile applications are higher, and the average of the attitude score towards use is lower than the other sub-dimension scores. In general, it has been determined that the scores of each sub-dimension of the mobile application acceptance scale are close to the highest score and the acceptance of mobile applications by healthcare professionals is high. The results obtained indicate that determining the legal legislation and usage limits, it can be recommended to inform and encourage the use of mobile health applications for communication, planning and support service between health personnel and the target audience.
