Abstract (EN)

Happiness orientations cause people to develop different mental and behavioral patterns in determining their priorities and making decisions. More clearly, there are serious differences in the priorities of people who aim to live a meaningful life and try to minimize pain or maximize pleasure in their practices, behaviors and thoughts in daily life. These differences can lead to long-term conflicts, low job satisfaction, ostraism, nepotism, mobbing, absenteeism, intention to quit, cynicism, exclusion, burnout, etc., especially in organizations formed by people who come together for a common purpose. It causes many counterproductive behaviors to emerge. Especially in health institutions that have an extremely important mission for human life, in order to protect the motivation of healthcare workers who devote a large part of their lives to their profession, both during their education and work, and to protect them from burnout, a management policy should be established according to these orientations, and it is important to determine which internal or external motivation tools contribute to productive behavior. It becomes important in terms of increasing organizational commitment, creating management styles based on meritocracy, and developing organizational culture in a way that includes differences. In this study, the effect of healthcare professionals' happiness orientations on job satisfaction was examined. In addition, the effects of eudomanic, hedonic and commitment sub-dimensions of happiness orientations on job satisfaction were investigated. On the other hand, whether positive and negative emotional states have a moderating role in the effect of happiness orientations on job satisfaction was also examined within the scope of the study. The field application of the study was conducted with healthcare professionals in Siirt province using the survey technique. In this context, 400 surveys suitable for data analysis were obtained. The survey data obtained was analyzed with the licensed SPSS 25 package program. Descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, independent sample t-test and anova analysis were used to analyze the data. In line with the findings obtained in the research, it was concluded that the happiness orientation of healthcare professionals and its sub-dimensions, eudomania and commitment, affect job satisfaction, but hedonic happiness, another sub-dimension of happiness orientation, does not affect job satisfaction. It has been determined that negative mood has a moderating role in the effect of happiness orientation on job satisfaction and weakens the strength of the relationship. The results regarding the differences in perception in terms of demographic characteristics are given in detail in the study.
