Effects of health awareness, sport habit, and social-demographical factors on environmentally friendly buying behavior

This research aims to determine effects of health awareness, sport habit and social-demographical factors on environmentally buying behavior. Sample of the research are Turkish consumers. Data that used for test hypothesis is gathered with online questionnaire form. Questionnaire form of the research compiled from 3 different scale development works. 485 consumers were participated the survey and, 4 of them social-demographical questions, totally 28 questions asked to participants. In the research, minimum 30 participants attended from each subgroup. Data were tested with IBM SPSS statistics software. As a result of the research a significant difference determined between health awareness, sport habit and ecologically friendly buying behavior. Secondly, significant difference determined between gender, income, and ecologically friendly buying behavior. In other words, women show more ecologically friendly buying behavior than men and, as the income level increases, consumers tend to buy more environmentally friendly products. Next, significant difference not determined between health awareness and socio-demographic factors in the research. In other words, social class (gender, income, age, education) that on the scope of research has high level health awareness in Turkey. Lastly, research determined that education, income, and age factors differentiate significantly with sport habit.
