Total quality management in health services: Ahi Evran University Education and Research Hospital case

As a general expression, main aim of hospitals to benefit society. Of course, it must has certain level of quality in order to reach at its aim. A hospital is expected to has highest level of quality and efficiency and continious effort for development. Ensuring best employee effort, providing best possible service and avoiding complaints serves to this philosophy. However, hospitals must satisfy its employees in order to achieve this goal. As a result of this, employees will participate voluntarily to TQM and thus they improve hospital quality and therefore,they will be beneficial to the individuals and society. As we discussed before, the satisfaction of individuals and society are in direct proportion of employee satisfaction. In this manner, understanding of employees orientation concerning their satisfaction, ideas, approvement or complaints must require regular evaluations. Those evaluations must be assessed in time, imperfections must be improved in order to shift employees perspective towards positive and thus, satisfaction of individuals and society must be provided. The aim of this study is to determine the perspective and interest of employees of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Teaching Hospital towards TQM, to assess their perspective about available conditions in order to TQM implementations and to detect their satisfaction about hospital/hospital management/hospital working conditions. In this survey content, Questionnaires were used in Ahi Evran University Teaching Hospital and surveys were carried out on face to face. Key words: hospitals, total quality management, health services
