Abstract (EN)

The most important part of the health sector are the health workers who practice their profession, which requires great effort and patience. It is an undeniable fact that personnel who are satisfied with their profession and the institution where they practice their profession, the working conditions offered to them and their personal rights are properly met, are more committed to their profession and more productive. Technological developments have affected every sector, as well as the health sector. Diseases are now diagnosed in a shorter time and more effective treatment methods are used. Developments in medical technology and advanced services in patient care require healthcare professionals to be more equipped and competent in their jobs and superior service is expected from healthcare professionals under all circumstances. This expectation has brought about the participation of employees in professional development programs and the increase in the number of these programs. In the health sector, treating patients with care, providing their treatments quickly and correctly, and patient satisfaction are as important as the satisfaction of the employees who provide relevant services to the patients, their interest in their profession and their organizational commitment. Public or private institutions are obliged to carry out some studies to increase the organizational commitment and job satisfaction of their current employees in order not to lose their personnel whose professional qualifications they consider important. In the study aimed to reveal the relationship between workplace spirituality, organizational commitment and job satisfaction of healthcare professionals at Tokat State Hospital, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Research and Application Hospital and Private Medical Park Hospital in Tokat province. In this context, an online survey was administered to 361 healthcare professionals. The analyzes revealed that the workplace spirituality of healthcare professionals has a statistically significant and positive effect on both organizational commitment and job satisfaction. The fact that the relationship between workplace spirituality, organizational commitment and job satisfaction is not adequately examined in the national and international literature makes this study original and important.
