Abstract (EN)
Today, creativity has an important place in the field of health, as in all business lines. For this reason, it is useful to know the creative thinking ability of healthcare professionals, who have an important role in human life and health, and the factors that affect this ability. In this respect, examining the effect of individual values on creative thinking ability has a serious contribution both in theory and in practice. In this study, it is aimed to examine the relationship between the individual values of individuals working in health institutions and their creative thinking ability. A descriptive research model was used to examine this relationship and a survey method was used to collect data. The population of the research consists of health workers working in different health organizations in Kars province and the sample consists of 408 health personnel who can be easily reached by convenience sampling from these organizations. In this context, data were collected by applying the Khatena – Torrance Creative Perception Inventory and Portrait Values Questionnaire to the employees. According to the research findings, it was concluded that all values except the security value dimension had a statistically significant but negative effect on creative thinking. In this direction, it was concluded that the dimensions of power, achievement, hedonism, stimulation, self-direction, universalism, benevolence statistically affected creative thinking at the 0.01 significance level, and the conformity-tradition dimension statistically affected the creative thinking ability at the 0.05 significance level. In addition, it was determined that the level of creative thinking did not differ according to the variables of gender, age, marital status, educational status, department, duration of work experience, position, and culture. On the other hand, it has been determined that individuals who do not have children have more creative thinking ability than those who do not define themselves as creative, and those who do not have many cultures in the household.
