Abstract (EN)

Today, the quality of health services is measured not only by the effectiveness of treatment methods, but also by the protection of patients' rights and satisfaction. As the attention to human rights increases in the world, issues such as the right to health and patient rights are developing. In this context, patient rights come to the forefront as a fundamental element of health services. Patient rights mean that individuals are treated in accordance with basic human rights in accessing and benefiting from health services. Awareness of patient rights is associated with patient and patient relatives' satisfaction. The aim of this study is to examine the impact of the activities of patient rights units in healthcare organizations on patient satisfaction. This study will focus on the activities of patient rights units, their effectiveness and their contribution to patient satisfaction, especially in the context of healthcare organizations in Turkey. For this purpose, the study was conducted with 133 inpatients and outpatients in a private hospital in Istanbul. Questionnaire technique was used as a data collection tool. The data were collected with sociodemographic data form, patient satisfaction scale and patient rights scale. As a result of the analysis of the data in this study, it was seen that patient rights practices were at a moderate level (3.2 ± 0.5) and patient satisfaction was high (4.3 ± 0.6). The relationship between patient rights practices and patient satisfaction. It was determined that there is a positive, moderate, positive relationship between patient rights practices and patient satisfaction. This result shows that as patient rights practices increase, patient satisfaction also increases. In addition, according to the results of the research, it was observed that there was a moderate effect of patient rights practices and patient satisfaction on the sub-dimensions of interest and courtesy (0.619; p<0.01 administrative services (0.619; p<0.01) and medical services (0.548; p<0.01).
