The relationship between the risks perceived by twelveth grade students of Health Vocational High School in their professional practices and their anxiety (Amasya province case)

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the risks experienced in vocational skills training on the anxiety of twelfth grade students studying at Health Vocational High Schools in Amasya Province. The population of the research, which is a cross-sectional and relational type, was conducted in 6 Vocational High Schools of Amasya Province between February and March 2024 (Amasya Sabuncuoğlu Şerefeddin Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Göynücek 70. Yıl Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Gümüşhacıköy Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Merzifon The sample consisted of twelfth grade students (n=252 people) studying at Şehit Dursun Özsaraç Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Suluova Lokman Hekim Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, Taşova Süleyman Bursalı Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. The entire universe has been reached. Data of the research; The survey, which consisted of questions about sociodemographic characteristics, risks and dangers arising from the students' working environment, the effects of vocational skills training on students and working conditions, and the "Beck Anxiety Scale" questions, created by the researchers by examining the literature, was conducted under direct observation in an average of 20 minutes. Student t test, Mann Whitney U test and Pearson correlation analysis were used in the statistical analysis of the data. It was found that the anxiety of the twelfth grade Health Vocational High School students included in the research was at a mild level. Anxiety levels of female students were found to be higher than male students. It was found that students' vocational education contributed positively to them, but they were not satisfied with the conditions arising from the environment, and those who were dissatisfied had higher anxiety levels. Training on combating anxiety should be given to female students.
