Determination of health tourism awareness of health personnel: the case of Çankırı province summary

The research aimed to determine the awareness levels of healthcare personnel regarding health tourism. The research population consisted of healthcare workers at Çankırı State Hospital. A survey technique, one of the quantitative methods, was used in the study, and a five-section survey form was developed. The aim was to reach all 705 healthcare workers at Çankırı State Hospital. After eliminating incorrectly filled out, incompletely filled out, and unfilled forms from the surveys distributed in the spring, 350 valid forms were evaluated. Approximately 50% of the research population was reached. Data from the survey forms completed by the research participants were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 25 package program. Demographic information of the participants was presented using descriptive statistics. A One-Way ANOVA was used to determine differences in multiple groups, and an Independent Samples T-Test was used to test for differences between paired groups. A Tukey post hoc test was used to compare groups where differences were found. As a result of the research, according to the results of the T-Test and ANOVA Tests related to the difference between the demographic characteristics of the healthcare workers at Çankırı State Hospital who participated in the research and their perception scores of the effects of health tourism, a statistically significant difference was found in the variables of education status and occupation. According to the results of the T-Test and ANOVA Tests related to the difference between the demographic characteristics of the healthcare workers who participated in the research and their perception scores of the problems of health tourism, a statistically significant difference was found in the variables of education status, seniority and occupation from the demographic characteristics of the healthcare workers. According to the results of the T-Test and ANOVA Tests related to the difference between the demographic characteristics of the healthcare workers who participated in the research and their perception scores of institutional competence, a statistically significant difference was found in the occupation variable from the demographic characteristics of the healthcare workers. According to the results of the T-Test and ANOVA Tests related to the difference between the demographic characteristics of the healthcare workers at Çankırı State Hospital who participated in the research and their perception scores of the health tourism potential of Çankırı province, no statistically significant difference was found in the demographic characteristics of the healthcare workers.
