Place and the ımportance of the family practice ın the healthcare care sector and one case study about the satisfaction level of those benefiting from these services

Among the modern health care system?s outstanding aims is to provide access to healthcare services, make people benefit from these services with their needs and so to increase the quality of life and standard of services. Main purpose of the works in health care sector is to be organized, financed and provided the services effectively, efficiently and fairly. In order to reach these objectives, first level healthcare services should be targeted to be reorganized, expanded and supplied to end-users in a modernized way. World Health Organization, counts among its targets to enable people to reach the basic family and social healthcare services based upon their family in a better way up to 2010 and `?Health for Everybody?? in 21st century.As it is all over the world,in our country,in order to be realize these aims,basic family and social health care services have started to be performed completely by trained healthcare staff whose duties are defined clearly and who are equipped with required skills. The aim of family practice is to provide first level health care services with people in a professional mood with the participation of society in living and working areas of people using protective, diagnostic, treating and rehabiliting methods. Main principles of family practice are to develop and empower it in sustainable education, motivate physicians and other staff using different elements, to weight on protective healthcare system considering individual needs and to apply an acceptable reference system. Performance of an efficient first level health care service can give opportunities for high level health care services to offer more quality services and education as well as a decrease in the patient load of this level.The aim of present study is to determine the place, importance and application method of family practice in our country and the changes and contributions it has introduced into our healthcare system. In addition, family practice in health care centres, changes in the conventional practice caused by family practice application, its advantages and disadvantages for institutions and staff, social interest in family practice, demand and satisfaction level of people, easiness family practice provides to second and third level health care institutions and the cares to be taken for the efficient and successful application of family practice are determined in the study.
