Abstract (EN)
This study focuses on digital transformation in health by introducing the concept of digitalization. The digitalization of the healthcare sector in Turkey has been examined in detail, the digitalization of healthcare services, the digital hospital and the accreditation of hospitals regarding digitalization have been introduced. In order to reveal the variables affecting digitalization, the study investigated the relationships between the Digital Readiness Index, the Digital Economy and Society Index, and the Health Services Access and Quality Index on digitalization in the literature and the health and economic variables using Pearson Correlation analysis. The analysis was conducted using 2019 data for 19 European Union countries. Data taken from Cisco, Lancet, European Commission, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. According to the analysis results, total health expenditures, compulsory health expenditures and gross domestic product per capita have a positive and significant relationship with all three indices. In addition, the Health Services Access and Quality Index also has a positive and significant relationship with voluntary health expenditures. These findings show that as total health expenditures, compulsory health expenditures or gross domestic product per capita increases, digitalization also increases; the country's tendency towards digitalization is increasing.
