The main focus of this thesis is to explore how customers behave in the context of health tourism marketing while analyzing demographic characteristics such as educational levels, income levels and countries among other variables that impact their decision-making process. The study evaluated 301 participants who shared information about themselves during surveys which led to certain findings. One objective is developed through this research: guiding firms offering services within the realm of health tourism through providing insight regarding developing strategies from a customer-oriented standpoint while highlighting how understanding consumer behavior could prove beneficial for these firms regarding maintaining competitiveness by fostering market segmentation techniques with appropriate target audience identification considerations apart from serving as an important source for analyzing industry trends. Factors that seemed to influence customer behaviors surrounding health tourism marketing examined within the thesis include accessibility to healthcare services, cost-effectiveness, quality assurance, reliability, brand reputation and customer satisfaction alongside considerations of social, cultural and demographic factors influencing behaviours as a whole. The result is a significant contribution to the field of understanding consumer behavior including preferences and decision-making reasons behind making purchases towards health tourism.
