Perception of physiotherapy employees and students in terms of health tourism and analysis of antalya physical therapy rehabilitation units

In today's world, there are developments in health services in parallel with the increase in the welfare level of people. People have started to go to different destinations to access healthcare services with ease of transportation, whereas before, they generally get healthcare services only in the places they lived. Accordingly, the health tourism sector has started to develop, and countries have focused more on this sector as it creates a large market network. However, the ratio of our country in this market is not sufficient. Our study investigated the perception of health tourism of the employees and the students in physical therapy and rehabilitation and the level of proficiency in health tourism of physical therapy centers in Antalya. Two different questionnaires were used during the research. In the first survey, there are questions about the relationship between health tourism and physical therapy, which areas to focus on to increase health tourism and the situation of Turkey in terms of tourism and health tourism together with the demographic information of the employees and students. Overall, although the participants have knowledge about health tourism, it has been concluded that unfortunately there is not enough effective work in our country, and Turkey's image is not very positive in this regard. The second survey questioned whether the institutions serving in Antalya have the necessary infrastructure for health tourism. In particular, the staff situation, device status, and whether the institutions are actively working on developing health tourism have been asked. It has been understood that institutions have serious shortcomings in both personnel and studies aimed to improve health tourism. Keywords: Health tourism, health, Physical Therapy, Antalya.
