The impact of entrepreneurship level on the motivations of health management department students (Gümüşhane province example)

This study examines the relationship between the entrepreneurship levels and motivations of Gümüşhane University Health Management Department students (n = 200 people). The population of the study, which was cross-sectional and descriptive, consisted of students from the Department of Health Management (n = 200 people) and the entire population was reached. The data of the research were collected through a survey consisting of questions to evaluate the Socio-Demographic characteristics, entrepreneurship levels and motivation measurements of the students of the Department of Health Management, which was created by the researchers by reviewing the literature. Frequency, mean, standard deviation, t-test, Mann Whitney U test, ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis and correlation tests were used to analyze the data. It was determined that the health management students included in the research had a high level of entrepreneurship but a low level of motivation. The Entrepreneurship Scale scores of students who chose their department willingly were found to be statistically significantly higher than those of students who chose their department unwillingly. It was determined that the entrepreneurship scale and motivation scale scores of students who wanted to take the entrepreneurship course were higher than those of students who did not want to take the entrepreneurship course. As students' Entrepreneurship Scale average scores increase, their Motivation Scale average scores increase. Department promotions and social organizations should be increased by department faculty members for students who do not choose their department willingly.
