Abstract (EN)

This study aims to determine the relationship between students' personality traits, career stress, and career future levels, as well as to reveal differences based on sociodemographic variables. The study population consists of students enrolled in the Health Management departments of public universities in Turkey. Within the scope of the research, data were collected through face-to-face surveys administered to 1,059 students and online surveys (via Google Forms) completed by 35 students, resulting in a total of 1,094 participants. All collected surveys were included in the analysis. The "Career Stress Scale," "Career Future Scale," and "Ten-Item Personality Inventory" were used as data collection instruments. The analyses revealed significant differences based on gender, age, class level, place of residence, voluntary choice of department, perception of the department's future prospects, employment in a field related to the department, satisfaction with the department, reason for preference, and career plans. The correlation analysis indicated statistically significant relationships among career stress, career future, and personality traits. Career stress exhibited a moderate negative correlation with career future and a low negative correlation with personality traits. The simple regression analysis showed that career stress accounted for 24.8% of the variance in career future, while the multiple regression analysis revealed that career stress and personality traits together explained 37.5% of the variance in career future.
