Abstract (EN)

This study is carried out to determine the relation of different Q angles with their static and dynamic performances. To the study, thirty-six (36) women whose average age is 21.0±1.6 year, and forty-one (41) men whose average age is 21.2±1.6 year, in total seventy-seven (77) students are participated. To the all students, after letting them practice already-defined ten (10) minutes warm-up and stretch exercises; Single Leg Standing Test, Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT), goniometric Q angle measurement and foot-knee posture analysis are done. As a result of statistical calculations, the value of average Q angle on right lower extremity is found out as 13.00º ± 5.00º for women, and 10.70º ± 3.60º (p?0.05) for men; also the value on left lower extremity is found out as 15.05 º ± 5.00º, and 12.02º ± 4.20º (p?0.05) respectively. Examining the results for both women and men, it is seen that the value of left-side Q angle is much higher than the right-side one (p<0.05). Moreover, comparing to the balance with the values of Q angles, it is stated that there is no relation between Single Leg Standing Test and Q angle due to (p>0.05); however, for comparison between SEBT and the performance of right lower extremity, there comes out a significant and positive affected (p?0.05) relation over posterior and posterolateral directions. It is concluded that in presence of further studies, for those who needs to show great balance performance such as athletes, dancer etc. there could be defined physiotherapy programs and prevented of injuries by evaluating Q angles.Key Words: Q angle, balance, patellofemoral angle, quadriceps angle, postural control.
