Determination of normative values of endurance shuttle walk test in healthy young i̇ndividuals

The purpose of this study was to indicate the normative values for endurance shuttle walk test in healthy young individuals. Methods: In the context of the research, Endurance shuttle running test distance of healthy young people and calculated VO2max values, age, gender, height, weight, body mass index (BMI) value, body composition, VO2max value of Astrand exercise test were evaluated. Results: There was no difference in endurance shuttle walking distance, calculated VO2max, reached maximal heart rate, Astrand exercise test VO2max value, workload and maximal heart rate (p> 0.05). Statistical analysis by gender; there was a statistically significant difference in endurance shuttle walk distance between women and men (p <0.05). In the regression model, age, height and body mass index were independent predictors of endurance shuttle walking distance. Conclusion: Endurance shuttle walk test did not differ according to age groups, but the distribution by gender showed a difference in male and female individuals. In addition, maximal exercise test and endurance shuttle walk test correlated but age, height and body mass index were found as independent predictors of endurance shuttle walking distance.
