Özet (EN)
This study was planned to investigate the effects of yoga training applied with telerehabilitation method on menstrual symptoms, quality of life, anxiety-depression level, body awareness and self-esteem in healthy women. Thirty-two healthy premenopausal women between the ages of 18-45 were included in the study. The women were randomly divided into two groups as those who received telerehabilitation training (n:16) and the control group (n:16). Yoga training with the telerehabilitation method was performed on the Zoom software for 6 weeks, 2 times a week and 45 minutes a day, accompanied by a physiotherapist who has a yoga instructor certificate. No intervention was performed in the control group. The evaluations were made online for both groups twice, at the beginning and at the end of the study. The menstrual pain and symptoms of individuals by Menstrual symptom scale (MSS), health-related quality of life of individuals by Nottingham health profile (NHP), depression levels of individuals by Beck depression scale (BDS), anxiety levels of individuals by State and trait anxiety scale (STAS), body awareness of individuals by body awareness questionnaire (BAQ) and self-esteem of individuals by Rosenberg self-esteem scale (RSES) were determined. As a result of the study, statistically significant improvements were observed in the MSS total (p=0.001), negative effects (p=0.003), menstrual pain symptoms (p=0.003), coping methods (p=0.001) sub-parameters, the BDS score (p=0.000), NHP sleep (p=0.021), energy (p=0.002), emotional reactions (p=0.000), social isolation (p=0.039) sub-parameters, on the other hand there was no statistically significant difference observed in NHP physical and pain sub-parameters, STAS, BAQ, and RSES scores (p>0.05) in the yoga training group applied with telerehabilitation method. In the control group, all outcome measures were similar (p>0.05), except for statistically significant worsening in the NHP total score (p=0.000). In the difference values between the two groups, the statistically differences were found in all sub-parameters of MSS, NHP sleep, energy, emotional reaction and social isolation sub-parameters, BDS and BAQ scores in favor of the yoga training group (p<0.05). As a result, it was stated that yoga training applied with the telerehabilitation method had a curative effect on menstrual symptoms, depression, quality of life and body awareness in healthy women, while it was observed that did not a change in women's self-esteem and state-trait anxiety levels. In the light of these results, it is thought that yoga training applied to healthy women with the telerehabilitation method is a safe and effective method in reducing menstrual symptoms and depression, increasing quality of life and body awareness, and these effects should be examined in different populations with more cases in future studies.
