Abstract (EN)
With the increase age, the importance given by individuals to healthy ageing is increasing. Thanks to participation in regular physical activity, many benefits occur in individuals such as physiological, psychological and sociological. In this way, individuals can have the advantages of protecting and maintaining their current health status. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the factors affecting the intention and behaviour of adults and elderly individuals to participate in recreational physical activities for healthy ageing. For this purpose, the intention and behaviours of individuals to participate in physical activities are examined within the framework of the theory of planned behaviour. In this study, snowball and convenience sampling methods were used. The sample of the study consisted of 933 adults aged 30 and over. The data were collected through face-to-face interviews and the internet setting. Frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation analyzes were performed in the statistical package program. Then, explanatory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis were applied to the statistical package program for the expressions of the theory of planned behaviour and physical activity involvement scales. As a result, it was found that there was a significant relationship between the theory of planned behaviour dimensions, physical activity involvement and intention, and perceived behavioural control, intention and behaviour.
