Abstract (EN)

It aims to determine the topics that should be emphasized by measuring the knowledge level of patient relatives who receive service in the inpatient services of Behçet Uz Pediatrics and Surgery Training and Research Hospital regarding the patient education that should be given according to the Quality Standards in Health-Hospital Set Version 6.0. The research is of descriptive type. Relatives of 244 patients who were treated with the first hospitalization between September 1, 2020 and November 30, 2020 were reached.. Questionnaire questions were prepared by the researcher using the standards of SKS Hospital Set Version-6.0, which include patient education and information. Questions about the demographic characteristics of the participants and to measure the level of knowledge about the quality of patient care were created in a 5-point Likert answer format. The questionnaire consists of 24 questions, three parts and the data were collected by face-to-face interview method. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 22.0 program. One-way analysis of variance, Kruskal Wallis analysis, and Bonferroni were used to find the group that made a difference between the dimensions. One-way analysis of variance was applied to compare the total scores of the scale according to the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants. As a result, it is seen that there is a statistically significant difference between the total scores of the scale according to the professions of the participants (p<0.05). It is seen that the total scores of the participants who are civil servants in their profession are higher than those who are workers. It is seen that there is a statistically significant difference between the total scores of the scale according to the length of stay of the participants.(p<0.05). It is seen that the total scores of the participants whose hospitalization period is more than 10 days are higher than those whose hospitalization period is between 0-5 days and 6-10 days.It is seen that there is a statistically significant difference between the total scores of the scale according to the frequency of hospitalization of the participants (p<0.05). It is seen that the total scores of the scale with a frequency of hospitalization of 3 or more are higher than those of the participants whose frequency of hospitalization is for the first time and twice. As a result of the statistical analyzes made in our research, it was determined that the scores given by the participants were above the average and the knowledge level of the participants was high.
