Abstract (EN)

When the history of the Safavid State is examined, it has left its mark as a period in which the institutions of the Shah Abbas I (1587-1629), which was seen as an important turning point, were centralized and the contact with the European states increased. Jabal 'Amil scholars, who started to come to the country in order to introduce Isnaashariyyah Shiism to the public as of the Shah Tahmas period, became a regular migration movement during the Shah Abbas I period. With the political developments that has occured, Shah Abbas I, who took the authority of the Kızılbaş who had been working in official positions since the first times of the establishment of the state, appointed the scholars of Jabal 'Amil in their place. Thus, he increased his power by creating a strong power circle attached to him. The translations made from Arabic to Persian by these scholars, who came to the country with a regular migration movement, brought new ideas to the country and brought scientific enlightenment. These developments enabled the establishment of institutional madrasas in the Safavid State and the scholars to carry out scientific studies that would affect the surrounding countries. Shah Abbas I, who ascended the throne at a time when internal and external revolts increased and the central authority deteriorated, re-established the foundation of the Safavid State and strengthened it. In this thesis, it will be tried to reveal the scientific effects of the enlightenment that occurred with the arrival of the scholars of Jabal 'Amil to the state and the scientific effects that occurred with the educational activities he contributed to the Safavid State.
