Abstract (EN)
Key words: Trace Element, BCR, ICP-OES, EDS, D-100 Highway. The concentrations of heavy metals (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, V, Sr, Ba, Fe, Ni, Pb andZn ) in 24 dust samples collected from August 2010 the streets of the D-100Highway, Sakarya (Turkey) using sequential extraction procedure were determinedby ICP-OES and scanning tunelling microscopy. The three-step BCR sequentialextraction procedure was used in order to evaluate mobility, availability andpersistence of trace elements in street dust samples. The sequential extractions wereperformed with 0,11 M CH3COOH, 0,5 M H2NOH.HCl, 8,8 M H2O2 + 1 MCH3COONH4 and aqua regia (3 HCl + 1 HNO3), respectiely, in triplicate analyses.Three operationally defined fractions isolated using the BCR procedure were: acidextractable, reducible, and oxidizable. In this study, performed by EDS, it wasobserved that the metals contents have decreased after the application of eachsequential extraction stage and finally after the aqua regia leaching step, almost theheavy metals were not retained on the residue. Validation of the analytical resultswas checked by analysis of the BCR-701 certified reference material.
