Hand crafts and arts specific to TaraklI a district of Sakarya

Taraklı is a county which has a historical background in Sakarya is a crucial cultural centre having a basic point in Ottoman Empire.This county is well known not only for its famous historical houses based on Turkish architect reaching up to now but also for its folk handcrafts and trades.In this study, at first there will be a presentation on Taraklı after focusing on the terms such as weaving, kaşıkçılık, saddling mutaflık and craft of a metal worker related to the handcraft and trade.Although many craftsmen grow up in Taraklı, the number of these craftsmen has been decreasing day by day which is the reasaon why I figure out this subject to study. This study enables us an opportunity to make an interview with the last representatives of some handcrafts as soon as possible by recording their experiences informations. Thus both searching sources and interview-observation have been done.By the light of this study, it is inevitable to say Taraklı is the place where the handcrafts have the golden age up to recent times.Due to reasons such as its location on crucial commercial routes and having an appropriate stock resources, the trade develops the expertness at handcrafts. Reciprocationally, the expertness at handcrafts develops the trade. For that reason, every child is inclined to apprenticeship of this occupation as soon as the child graduates from the primary schoo
