Abstract (EN)
With the increasing population and industrial activities, fossil fuels are used to meet the energy needs and the greenhouse gases released from these fossil fuels into the atmosphere increase the global warming temperature and bring climate change. In this study, it is aimed to raise awareness by examining the adaptation efforts of local governments to climate change and the use of renewable energy resources and the society's perspective on clean, sustainable energy in order to minimize these two negative situations. According to the results of the literature study, it has been revealed that renewable energy and climate change awareness are successful in minimizing the effects of global warming and climate change. In the study, a survey was conducted by determining the renewable energy resources and the perspective of the society in line with the projects to be carried out locally, taking into account the results of the literature. The results of the workshop and survey conducted within the scope of the project titled "Creating Youth Policies for Mitigating the Effects of Climate Change" with the support of the Eastern Marmara Development Agency, Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality and Sakarya University were analyzed by SWOT analysis method. The results of the analysis are evaluated for the province of Sakarya and national and local support mechanisms, practices and awareness-raising activities that take advantage of opportunities by taking into account the strengths, weaknesses and threats for different sectors are proposed.
