Abstract (EN)
Our research area Sakarya takes part in Çatalca-Kocaeli Section of Marmara Region. It is surrounded with; in the north Blacksea, east Düzce, Bolu, south Bilecik,Bursa and west Kocaeli. The city which has an old history becomes a county in 1954. since that time to 2000 Sakarya trebled its population parallel with the increase in Turkey's population. The main aim of this study is to assess Sakarya as a model which can show the changes in population of Turkey. Both numerical characteristics and social-economical characteristics were assessed together. The change in population was analysed at fist part as before republic and after republic.First the characteriistics of population before republic was assessed. Then the growth between celsuses in after republic period was assessed by analysing Sakarya as before 1954 and after 1954.After these stages,social and economical characteristics of Sakarya's population presented.To present Skarya's economicalstructure, the working population's secturial diffuse analysed and in which sphere of action are they in determined.Non-working polpulation's structure assessed. Second part is about presenting the main effects, borns,deaths and immigrations, of population movement. At this part effects of immigration over the increase of population was processed. To show the effects of immigration, the incoming population and where they came identified.
