The image of the students about Turkey who came to educate from Turkish Republics and Relative Groups to Sakarya University

Image is the conception about an individual, object, institution or country achieved subsequent to course of acquaintance. Image which takes from with information and messages derived by the assessment of information and data erupted from the culture the individual dwells, to his possessed prejudgements, is a high pressure concept that might alter with new information and experience, through cycle.Turkey has an image full of contradictions due to following reasans; Negative and positive impacts of the geographical location and history of Turkey, Turkey is only muslim country in the world and is the paradise of tourism that attracts many tourists from all over the world.To eliminate the contradictions of the Turkey image, we should find out the potentials that will show the positive sides of Turkey and Turkish people, considering the negative sides and the impression that foreignes have for Turkey.In this study, it is aimed at bringing to light the Turkey image and the variables that effect image of the undergraduate, post graduate and doctorate students coming from Turkish Republics and Relative Groups.In this study, we see the thoughts of the students about Turkey who came to educate from Turkish Republics and Relative Groups to Sakarya University. It is seen that after coming to Turkey the thoughts of the students changed within the firs 3 years and this is a positive change. It is also seen that the students in the study qualify Turkish people as brave, bound to traditions, hospitable, fighter, obstinate, respectful, generous, peaceful, helpful, clean, warm-blooded, hardworking, hero, courageous, merciful, tolerant and kind.The least negative adjectives belong to the students who have been staying inTurkey for a year or less than a year. The most negative objectives belong to the students who have been staying in Turkey for more than a year.The majority of the students in this study find the life style in Turkey different from the life style in their own countries. With the increasing time of staying in Turkey, it is seen that the ratio of students? willing to live in Turkey decrease. Most of the students in this study expressed that they want to keep up their relations with Turkey after graduating from university. İt is seen that tha ratio of the students think that they are well-behaved in Turkey is more than the ratio of the students think that they are behaved differently and badly. İt is also seen that the ratio of the students thinking that Turkey is a laic, religious, respectful to the human rights, modern, trustful and expensive country is quite high and this thinking is not related to the time of staying in Turkey. According to the findings of the research the most important sequence of events to perceive about Turkey is; to cause trouble of terror.
