The nutrition obsession of students of Vocational School of Health Sciences and Health Services of Sakarya University and some factors affecting it

Aim of the study: The aim of the research is to examine the Nutrition Obsession of Students of Vocational School of Health Sciences and Health Services of Sakarya University and Some Factors Affecting It. Methodology of the Study: The questionnaire in which "Personal Information Form", ORTO-15, Maudsley Obsessive Compulsive Question List and nutrition attitude test is used consists of four stages. In the first part, demographic information was obtained by using "Personal Information Form". The sample of our study is n=1919. Volume of the sample is calculated as 320. Data of 302 students were evaluated because 18 students failed to provide adequate information. Result: Of the 302 students who participated in the survey, 242 (80%) were female and 60 (20%) were male. The average body weight of the students was found to be 60,23 kg. 173 (57,3%) are associate degree students and 129 (42,7%) are undergraduate students. When the data was evaluated it was observed that 249 (82.5%) of the students who participated in the study did not have health problems. The rate of those who have orthorectic features in our study is 75%. Of these, 179 (59%) were female and 46 (41%) were male. 179 (74%) of the females and 46 (77%) of the males have orthorectic characteristics. There is no significant difference between Orthorexia neurosis and sex (p=0,51), age (p=0,745), weight (p=0,1) <0,05). However, there is a significant difference in BMI results (p=0,013). 99 (77%) of the undergraduate students and 225 (75%) of the undergraduate students were orthotopic. There is no statistically significant relationship between ORTO, YTT and MOCL scores according to the place where the students lived. There is a statistically significant relationship between ORTO, YTT and MOCL scores in our study (p<0.05). The findings we had in our study ( 75%) and the ones obtained in other studies show that orthorexia nervosa is gradually increasing
