Abstract (EN)

During the period historical, Georgians are one of the Caucasus peoples emigrated to various parts of Turkey, immediately after of 1877-78 The Ottoman and Russia War also known as "93 War" . As a result of this migration some part of Georgians who settled more in the Black Sea coasts, settled in Sakarya. Nowadays , Georgians continue to live in the many town and village of Sakarya. Wedding is one of the most important transition periods in human life, like birth and death. Wedding ceremony in hosting many cultural elements has important place in recognition community. Marriage traditions of Georgians who live in Sakarya are subject of in this research was examined, choosing a spouse, seeing the spouse, asking the spouse, engagement, henna night, wedding and after the wedding traditions, before the wedding ceremony and in the marriage process. Research areas are which most of Sakarya's Gerorgians living villages and towns. İnterview was arranged with Georgians who located in Sakarya, Hendek –İkbaliye Village, Hendek-Pinarli Village, Geyve-Nuriosmaniye Village, Hendek-İkramiye Village,Sapanca-Nailiye Village and Hendek Center. Questıons of researching about wedding traditions were answered with in-depth interview and observation technique. Technique part of researching and History of Georgians informations were utilized from various books. According to the results of the study; Georgians who live in Sakarya were affected from society values of area which in live, getting into a groove. At the same time, they continue to live their own cultural identity.
