Phrases in Salâh Birsel's literary work called İstanbul-Paris

Language is a structure that reflects the culture of the society and is a mirror of the human being. Language, which sheds light on the life of a nation, makes important contributions to the formation and maintenance of the culture of the society. The word, which is the warp and woof of language, is the source of life and the carrier of culture. Words are the structures that make up a language and show the richness of the language. Many studies have been done on this subject in the field of Turcology and there are still many more studies ongoing in this field. Salâh Birsel is a literator known for his contributions to the Turkish language and Turkish vocabulary. The linguistic and stylistic features of his works have brought new meanings to the Turkish language and enriched the vocabulary of the Turkish language. The word groups and vocabulary in Birsel's works brought a distinctive perspective to Turkish. For this reason, a research on Salâh Birsel's life, works, language and style characteristics is significant. In addition, the sentence structure of Turkish is one of the issues that need to be examined. Phrases are units formed by the combination of emotions and thoughts that reflect the flexibility of the language. These phrases reveal the liveliness, activity and expressive power of the language. The phrases in Salâh Birsel's works and his mastery in using the language make valuable contributions to the Turkish language. For this reason, it has become clear that Salâh Birsel's work titled Istanbul-Paris needs to be examined in terms of phrases. The importance of Salâh Birsel in Turkish literature and his contributions to Turkish are examined and discussed. Phrases are language structures where two or more words come together in a certain order, carrying meaning and generally expressing a thought, a concept or an emotion. Word groups are important because they include historical elements and cultural values. The active language and richness of meaning in Salâh Birsel's works reveal the unique taste of the Turkish language. For this reason, the language, words and phrases need to be examined correctly. Accurate identification and clarification of language elements are important responsibilities. In this study, the diversity of phrases in the work titled Istanbul-Paris, the use of a fluent language and the original structure of Turkish were tried to be emphasized.
