Physiologocal and Biochemical Changes Due to Cadmium on Salicylic Acid Treated Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) SeedlingsIn this study, developed the seeds of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L. cv) seedlings of 15 days were used as the material. Seedlings, roots in the hydroponic method was preferred in all applications. Seedlings, salicylic acid for 24 hours (0.75 mM)were divided into two groups: pre-application and leave. Then these two groups, controls (distilled water and salicylic acid) its own right to be kept in condition, different concentrations of cadmium (0, 25, 50 and 100 µM) were performed separately. Different applications have seen seedlings, seedling length, seedling fresh and dry weight was determined as growth parameters. In addition, seedlings of protein, leaf pigments, malondialdehyde, and glutathione quantities were determined.According to the results obtained; salicylic acid pre-application and leave the growth parameters of seedlings and leaf pigment (chlorophyll a + b and carotenoids) in terms of quantities has been found statistically not significant differences between the groups (p? 0.05). However, compared to the control parameters mentioned in the concentration of cadmium increases and decreases in setbacks was significantly (p< 0.05). Seedlings treated for 25 µM concentration of cadmium loss of the effect of reducing the amount of salicylic acid pre-application of protein was detected (p< 0.05). Again, compared to control groups of salicylic acid pre-application and leave significant decreases in the amount of protein found seedlings increases the concentration of cadmium. The amount of malondialdehyde leaves of seedlings pre-applied salicylic acid groups (25 and 50 µM) was lower (p< 0.05). Amounts of malondialdehyde were significantly higher in all groups compared to control (p< 0.05). Salicylic acid, glutathione, the amount of leaves of seedlings pretreated for 50 µM cadmium concentration increased (p< 0.05). As compared to control groups, the overall amount of glutathione was lower (p< 0.05).As a result, depending on the selected concentrations, the shape of the planned application and the duration of pre-application of salicylic acid is considered organized on cadmium toxicity caused by the adverse effects of certain parameters.Key Words: Cucumber, Cadmium, Salicylic Acid, Toxic Effect
