Abstract (EN)

Epics are literary narratives that transfer the common values of nations from generation to generation. Turkish Literature has a very strong epic tradition. One of the most important epics in this tradition is the Saltikname epic, which was formed under the influence of Islam. Saltikname is about the wars of Sari Saltik. While carrying out his wars, Sarı Saltık traveled from land to land and became a very important name in the Islamization of the Balkans. The method we used in our study is the archetypal symbolism method. C. G. Jung revealed the existence of a common (collective) unconscious that has survived from the earliest ancestors of humans to the present day. He called these common values "archetypes". The archetypal symbolism method is a psychoanalytic method that helps to analyze the archetypes in literary works. The archetypal symbols in the works are very important for us to understand the works better. Saltıkname epic has been tried to be analyzed by Jung's archetypal symbolism method and the analysis has been handled in accordance with Campbell's
