Abstract (EN)

In this study two species (Salvia argentea L. and Salvia viridis L.) of Salvia (Sage)which belong to Lamiaceae family that has economical and medicinal properties have beeninvestigated morphologically and anatomically. Salvia argentea L. species collected from zmir-Kemalpaşa Nif Mountain and Manisa Spil Mountain has a perennial taproot. Salvia viridis L.species collected around Samsun-Kalkanca and Manisa-Gölmarmara has an annual taproot.Erect and herbaceous stems of both species are rectangular. Both species have simple leaves.Stems, leaves and flowers of both species have densely glandular and eglandular trichomes.Glandular trichomes that produce volatile oil which is the characteristic of the family and hasmedicinal value, and eglandular trichomes of the species were examined and classifiedaccording to their types and cell numbers. Morphological and anatomical properties of bothspecies were compared and the similarities and the differences were detected.
