Şamlı Mehmed Râgıb, his Divançe (Poem book) and its investigation

Century divan poet Râgıb's life and the only known work His Divançe's subject was taken. After the introduction which summarizes the political, social and literary situation of the century of Râgıb's, the sections of our study were taken into consideration. Our work consists of three main parts. The first part deals with Râgıb's life, literary personality and divançe, the only known work. In the second part, Râgıb's poems are examined in various aspects as form and content. In the third part, the new text of the divançe's is given. After the work summary and bibliography, the text of the divançe's written in Ottoman Turkish was added. Mehmed Râgıb, the Damascus, was born in 1750 and took part in various state levels. He died in Konya where he went as Governor in 1828. Classical literature is known as the second Râgıb in the valley. Râgıb, who wrote the poems of Tabriz Saib and Cavid, one of the poets of classical literature, reflected the general characteristics of Divan literature in his poems.
