Currently, historical buildings are to be vanished day by day, because the necessary importance to their preservation and conservation is not taken in to consideration. Despite the legislative obligations and new laws about the conservation of such Cultural and Natural Heritage, these Works of art are left to decay due to economical difficulties and low budgets allocated to the subject. The aim of this study is to document the current situation of a Turkish State Railway Lodging in Samsun; which is one of the cultural assets through the analytical investigations and evaluations, to reveal the authentic state of building by the restitution and bringing the restoration proposal for sustainable protection of the building in the light of preservation principles. This study includes; graphic documentation that defines The TCDD Lodging in Samsun, restitution that shows the authentic state, environmental analysis, the comparative study catalogue and restoration project that contributes to make ready the structure for restoration.
