Abstract (EN)

This thesis proposes new approaches towards "Internet of Things-IoT" and "Cyber-Physical System-CPS" providers, which include Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) with different location and technologies. For this purpose, an IoT/CPS provider architecture using an interactive WSN resource-sharing mechanism and its physical implementation are performed. IoT/CPS projects may use the heterogeneous WSN technologies as infrastructure components within their scope. The WSN systems under the roof of big scale IoT/CPS projects such as cloud systems, smart cities, and smart grids can provide different services by either interacting with each other or sending their data to a central IoT/CPS unit which collects and evaluates the data. When it is considered that the autonomous heterogeneous structures may change dynamically, it is clear that M2M interaction, resource sharing and data management between the different WSNs have paramount importance. WSN virtualization techniques, which are important resource-sharing and interaction mechanisms in WSNs, remain incapable in the IoT/CPS projects. In addition, the data storage and management methods used in traditional WSN systems are inefficient in IoT/CPS scale. In this context, the thesis study provides the following advantages; • Without any human intervention, an extensible broadcast area and resource sharing mechanism through providing code/command and algorithm transitivity • Minimum data traffic between server and clients by enabling client-defined filtering and algorithmic analysis on server side • An alternative resource selection/allocation algorithm, which considers both the client and the sub-WSN parameters at the same time • An optimum big data storage, management and sharing mechanism • A scalable and sustainable cloud system that involves these all features The accuracy and success of the proposed system have been shown by both simulation studies and real system implementations
