Art activities integrated primary school science lesson' effects on learning process

Abstract (EN)

This research aims to determine the effects of art integrated science lessons process on students science achievement, attiudes towards the course, their creativity and learning products. The research was designed as an embedded experimental design from mixed research methods. Participants of the research were 4th grade 40 students in a public primary school, classroom teacher and 9 parents of students attended the research during the 2020-2021 academic year. The data of the research collected by science lesson achievement test, science lesson attitude scale, general creativity scale, video recordings of lessons, student products and interview forms. During the art integrated science course learing products were created with different applied arts like "Painting, Music, Sculpture, Literature, Interior Architecture, Graphic Design, Industrial Product Design And Digital Arts", art criticism and art history. Quantitative data of the research were analyzed with descriptive statistics and qualitative data were analyzed with thematic analysis. As a result of the research; A statistically significant difference was found in favor of the experimental group in the achievement test, attitude scale and general creativity scale post-test scores. As a result of the analysis of the qualitative data, it was concluded that the students had achievements under five themes: "cognitive dimension", "artistic dimension", "environmental awareness dimension", "affective dimension" and "distance education dimension".
