The interdisciplinary interactions in art and graphic design, photography and illustration interaction and applications

There has always been a progress and transformation in the art history, just as in that of the humankind. Social and economic transformations opened new fields for artists with the help of the rapidly-developing mechanization process. The invention of tools such as photography and photo mechanics and the collage and assemblage techniques found as a result of the experimental searches of the Cubists led to the birth of movements such as Dada, Pop and Conceptual Art and helped artists to express their own talent more distinctively. This period witnessed the emergence of experimental searches and interdisciplinary interactions in art. An example of multidisciplinary interaction in art is that between photography and painting. Within the frame of this interaction, works made with techniques such as photomontage, photocollage, collage and assemblage emerged. Photography and painting techniques make the expression more efficient and multi-dimensional when used together. The interdisciplinary interaction seen in other branches of art emerged in graphic design too, in addition to photography and illustration. This study makes a new experimental search within the frame of the photography and illustration arts with an effort to add a new dimension to expression by using materials such as paper, lath, fabric, and thread on the illustrations applied. It aims to raise an awareness about animal rights such as nutrition, shelter and love by appealing to various senses and emotions with the help of the three-dimensional effect created with these materials.
