Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study was to determine the effect of painting studies with disadvantaged (neglected) children between 9-12 years on mood. The study was conducted with disadvantaged children aged 9-12 years who participated in an art workshop using art practices in art therapy.The research was structured using art practices in art therapy. Research; 29 female and 7 male participants. The study was started as a control group and 6 closed groups. A 14-session workshop experiment including pre-test and post-test scales was applied to these groups. The group has carried out research as a workshop supervisor. The psychologist of the institution was a woman and observer. The sessions were held under the roof of the institution with children who agreed to participate in painting and who agreed to participate voluntarily. Sensory Status-Child Protocol scale was applied at the beginning and end of the study. During the implementation process, participants shared their moods before and after the workshop. Each participant was observed by the observer psychologist. In this study, which was evaluated quantitatively and qualitatively, the use of painting in art therapy was investigated. According to the data obtained from the scales applied during the workshop process, the use of art works in art therapy was found to be beneficial. While it was observed that disadvantaged (neglected) children were successful in expressing their emotions through painting, it was also strengthened to have verbal expression.
